The Italian

Italian Born

Australian raised

Two different cultures

But thankful all the same

Australia has many blessings

I sometimes wonder what my life would’ve been like had we stayed in Italy.

All I know is that I’m thankful for growing up in Australia

This is the lucky country

I hope it stays this way for my family and future generations

I may not speak Italian well

I can understand it somewhat better

It doesn’t mean I’m less of an Italian than any other

I believe being Italian is on the inside

We are fighters, we are survivors, we adapt, we create, we grow, we work, we roll up our sleeves and get the job done, and we are bloody good at it too.

We are passionate, we are feeling, we are vocal, we are full of hand gestures!

Let not generations and generations of Italians in my blood

Ever let me forget that it’s ok to be passionate, emotive, creative, and hands flaying everywhere!

I love my Italian side.

I love being an Australian too.
